Download THE PLUG ROCKS app available in the App Store or Google Play. Then, you’ll need to create THE PLUG ROCKS account, provide a valid mobile number and enter the four-digit one-time-passcode SMS send to that number.

How do I use a THE PLUG ROCKS power bank?

Our power banks have built-in cables for USB-C, Micro USB and a lighting port. For USB-C, Micro USB and lighting port, pull the cable on the bottom of the battery pack and plug it into your phone/device. The USB-C cable can charge newer Android devices, Micro USB cable can charge an Android Phone, Camera, GoPro and Wireless Headphones, whilst the lightning port cable can charge an iPhone, iPad, and iPod.

How do I return THE PLUG ROCKS power bank?

Simply look for the nearest THE PLUG ROCKS rental station on the map in the THE PLUG ROCKS app. Once at the station, push the power bank straight into any slot in THE PLUG ROCKS station with the built-in cables inward. Push it in until it clicks and wait for the app to show your rental recap — contact in-app support if it doesn’t.

What do I do when my THE PLUG ROCKS power bank doesn’t seem to be charging my device?

First, make sure the cable is properly plugged into your device. We recommend that you remove a thick phone case to allow the cable to go all the way in. If you still don’t see a charge, return the battery into the station and contact us via in-app support.

How many THE PLUG ROCKS power banks can I rent at a time?

You can currently rent only one THE PLUG ROCKS power bank at a time. We are working on updating this feature in the future.

What happens if THE PLUG ROCKS rental station is too full to return my power bank?

If the station is too full to return a power bank, or doesn’t have any rentals available, locate the nearest station via the app. We’re constantly gaining new venues, so “refresh map” regularly to find our new and convenient locations.

Is it necessary to receive a code on my phone to set up THE PLUG ROCKS account?

Yes it is necessary. We at THE PLUG ROCKS want to ensure a secure account set-up. That's why we use two-factor authentication by sending the mobile number you provide with a four-digit code as an SMS. This relies on your phone having enough mobile signal to receive it. You may need to step into a better signal range than where a THE PLUG ROCKS rental station is situated, but can still rent from it by taking note of the station’s ID number. Please let our in-app customer care team know if you’ve had any signal related issues so that we can contact the venue to ensure that the station is placed in a more optimal place.

Why should I share my location and allow push notifications?

Our power banks devices charge efficiently, so you’ll quickly start to see an increase on your battery upon plugging it in. By sharing your location, you’ll be able to find where to rent and return power banks more easily. We use notifications to remind you to return the power bank to avoid paying late or loss penalty fees.

How do I find THE PLUG ROCKS rental station to rent and return a power bank?

THE PLUG ROCKS rental stations can be found in a variety of venues, including restaurants, bars, hotel lobbies, cafes, and shopping centers. Explore the map in our app to find the one nearest you, or pinch and zoom, then tap “Refresh map” to plan ahead on where to rent from or return a power bank to. We’re constantly gaining new venues, so “refresh map” regularly to find our new and convenient locations.

How to remove your banking details from THE PLUG ROCKS app?

Click on the “My Wallet” tab in the menu.

Click on the cross at the top of the card you want to delete from the app and click ‘Delete’. This will remove your card details from our database.

Please note: At least one bank card will always need to be present in order to utilize THE PLUG ROCKS power bank rental services.

How do I change my payment method on THE PLUG ROCKS app?

Log into the app, go to the Menu, select My Account, and tap on Payments. Then, follow on-screen instructions to add a new card.

How do I top-up My Wallet?

Select the menu (top left corner when you open THE PLUG ROCKS app). Click on ‘My Wallet’, click ‘top up’ in order to add money to your PLUG ROCKS account.

Where do I see how long I’ve rented THE PLUG ROCKS power bank? What is it costing me?

All this information is available within THE PLUG ROCKS app. You’ll be able to see the time you’ve charged as well as the exact accumulated cost thereof.

How much does THE PLUG ROCKS power bank rental cost?

You will pay the hourly rate until you hit 6 hours, then get the rest of the day (18 remaining hours) at no extra cost. Upon renting, a timer will show your rental’s pricing information. If you have any credits, they’ll be applied first. You’ll only pay the difference if your rental duration exceeds what your credits cover, based on the pricing plan you select for your rental. If you don’t return it, you’ll be charged its purchase price as it will be declared as lost.

What happens if I lose or forget to return THE PLUG ROCKS power bank?

Your rental will continue to accrue with the hourly charging rate. Once 6 hours have been reached, the charging will be free up until 24 hours (18 remaining hours). After 24 hours the power bank will be assumed lost and a daily fee will be charged for 5 days. After 5 days the power bank will be declared loss and an additional penalty fee will be charged.
